Applying to a Community College

The requirements for a community college are user friendly:

1.       18 years of age or/

2.     High School Diploma

3.     Orientation and Placement tests for incoming freshman

4.     No standardized tests required (SAT/ACT)

West Valley College mails a college application to all Westmont Seniors in the Fall – if you do not receive an application pick one up in the Guidance Office. Mail Promptly! Reserve your space now! As soon as you get on their mailing list they will send you vital information regarding the required orientation and placement tests that are required for freshman students. WVC provides an Early Admission program for our 12th grade students with a Westmont HS Orientation Day on their campus in the Spring. Testing, counseling services and on-site orientation is provided for all WHS seniors planning on attending WVC Fall 2004.

DeAnza College applications will be available in the Guidance Office. Because they are not in our “college district” we do not receive the on campus services that WVC provides. DeAnza College also requires orientation classes and placement tests for all incoming freshman. Check out the DeAnza website for up to date information. (www.deanza.fhda.edu)
